Journeying along...

It is hard for me to believe that I started this some seven weeks ago! It has been interesting to say the least. I have pushed myself physically in ways that I haven't in a long time, but there is still work to be done. Some of it is mental (some bad habits still need to be changed) and some of it is still in the physical side of things. I'm trying to take the small successes as they come. I have lost a few pounds and I know I've put on some muscle. My clothes fit a little better. So, we're taking it one day at a time. As more than one person has told me, this didn't happen overnight and it's not going to get fixed overnight.

I have set a goal that I would like to share with you. One year from now, myself, my workout partner and anyone else who would like to come along are going to run in a local 5k event. At this point I really don't think I could even run a hundred yards but I will run at least part if not all of this 5k!

Two challenges are coming up over the next two weeks. First is the holidays themselves. I did pretty well at Thanksgiving watching what and how much I ate and I need to do it again for Christmas and New Year. Second is an annual conference that I attend. I need to make sure that I workout while I'm there and that I eat carefully. I also need to continue to increase my water intake and that is difficult for me when traveling.
